Requirements to Apply for a Duplicate Title

  • VIN

  • Valid ID/Driver's License or Passport

    • USCIS ID is also accepted

    • Your ID may be expired for up to 1 year. As a precaution we only accept expired ID's up to 11 months for a duplicate title.

  • In some cases, a Lien Release may be required.

    • If you purchase the vehicle with financing or take out an auto loan, a lien release is required to obtain a duplicate title.

  • How long will it take to obtain my duplicate title?

    • Approximately 1 to 2 weeks.

  • I was told that my vehicle has a lien, how do I get the lien release?

    • Contact the finance company to obtain the lien release, they must provide you with a lien release with original signature and a business card.

  • My ID is expired, what can I do?

    • The Texas DMV accepts IDs expired for up to 1 year.

      • My ID is expired for more than 1 year, what can I do?

        • We accept several types of identification, if you have any other type you can provide us with the other identification.
