Bond Title - Titulos Bond -Title Bonds

Did you buy a vehicle without a title or maybe the dog ate it? In this publication we will explain the process of registering your car in your name with a lost or destroyed title (TX).

1) Collect your documents. You will need proof ownership. This can be the title, a bill of sale, or cancelled check. *** If your car does not have a Texas record, you will need to take the car to complete a police inspection (VTR-68-A) ***.

2) Complete the application for a Bond (VTR-130-SOF). This completed form is taken to the TxDMV (Texas Department of Motor Vehicles).

3) Go to the DMV, you can make an appointment or go in person. You can expect to spend a good amount of time there so bring some form of entertainment and a snack. At the DMV you will be given a "Notice of Determination for a Bonded Title or Tax Assessor Collector Hearing" form. This form is required to complete the Bond process.

4) Purchase the Surety Bond, you will need the approved DMV form to complete the purchase. We sell Surety Bonds - contact us or fill out the form for a quote!

5) Once you receive the Surety Bond, you can apply for plates, title, and registration. If you reside in Harris County, you will need to make an appointment to complete this process at the tax office. Bring the 130-U application, the Surety Bond (signed), your Bond application (approved, VTR-130-SOF), insurance, inspection, ID.
